Bridging Science, Soul & Somatic Awareness

Train in Somatic Coaching & Transform the Way You Work with Clients

At The Mindful Prof, we believe meaningful transformation begins in the body. Our 20-hour Somatic Practitioner Training is designed for therapists, coaches and wellness professionals who want to integrate embodied awareness and autonomic nervous system–informed practices into their work. Through experiential learning, mindfulness and evidence-informed somatic frameworks, participants develop practical tools to support clients with presence, clarity and compassion.

The training is typically offered twice per year in small, live cohorts to preserve depth, safety and meaningful learning. Because space is limited, we encourage interested practitioners to join the interest list to receive updates about upcoming Spring and Fall cohorts. We are also exploring an asynchronous learning option to expand access for those who may benefit from a more flexible format.

This training is ideal for therapists, coaches, and wellness practitioners seeking to expand their capacity for co-regulation, safely integrate somatic tools, and prevent burnout while fostering lasting healing and growth.

What to Expect

This small-group training blends experiential exercises, reflection and hands-on practice. Frameworks include:

  • Hakomi Method® → Uses mindfulness and curiosity to gently explore unconscious beliefs and patterns, supporting compassionate self-discovery.
  • Somatic Experiencing® → Focuses on the autonomic nervous system to safely process stored stress and build resilience through body awareness and pacing.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)® →  Explores inner ‘parts’ through an embodied lens, strengthening self-leadership, compassion and integration. This training emphasizes somatic parts work rather than the formal IFS protocol.
  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy® → Tracks and shifts unconscious body-based patterns—such as posture, breath and movement—that shape emotional responses and relational dynamics.
  • Autonomic Nervous System Regulation & Somatic Attachment → Develop a practical understanding of how activation, shutdown and regulation show up in the body. Learn how early attachment patterns are expressed somatically and how to support clients in moving toward greater flexibility, safety and connection.
  • Mindfulness → A foundational thread throughout, cultivating moment-to-moment awareness, curiosity and compassionate presence.

Together, these approaches invite practitioners to ask not only, "What do I think?" but also, "What is happening in the body right now?"

Who This Is For:

  • Work safely with trauma through a nervous-system–informed lens
  • Deepen their capacity for co-regulation
  • Bring embodied healing into their sessions
  • Expand beyond purely cognitive approaches
