Inspired by the research and mindfulness strategies utilized by Dr. Kelsey Evans-Amalu, The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation share a common purpose: to cultivate healthier, more connected lives—whether at home, at work, or within community.

The Mindful Prof (TMP) is a team of wellness practitioners offering personalized, research-backed services that support mindful living and holistic well-being. Through somatic coaching, bodywork therapies, and contemplative practices, we guide individuals on their journey toward greater mind-body balance and personal growth.

Building on this foundation, The Mindful Corporation (TMC) extends these principles into the workplace, helping organizations transform leadership, culture, and employee wellness through a human-centered, 360° approach. Dr. Kelsey Evans-Amalu is the founder and fearless leader of The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation, where she brings together research-backed practices and holistic wellness to support individuals and organizations. Based in Central Florida, she serves as a wellness educator, somatic practitioner, and meditation instructor for private clients, corporate teams, and educational institutions. With a Ph.D. in Education and certifications in yoga, meditation, Reiki, and coaching, Dr. K. specializes in mindfulness training, stress management, trauma-informed care, and resilience-building strategies. Her work empowers people to lead with presence, clarity, and compassion.

Dr. Shiva Jahani (she/her) is a sound healer, mindfulness coach, and breathwork facilitator, dedicated to enhancing wellbeing in both personal and professional settings. A professor at the University of Central Florida’s College of Community Innovation and Education, she blends academic expertise with holistic practices to support stress reduction, clarity, and emotional resilience. Dr. Jahani is a certified teacher through the Chopra Center, the Vibrational Sound Association, Breath and Body Therapy, and is an Asia-certified yoga instructor. She offers virtual and in-person sessions, corporate retreats, and wellness workshops focused on meditation, sound healing, and breathwork. Her current research explores strategies to improve quality of life and workplace wellness.

Dr. Elizabeth Bendick is a licensed psychologist in Pennsylvania and Florida with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from William James College. She brings a compassionate, integrative approach to mental health, blending evidence-based modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and relational work to support emotional resilience and personal growth.

With experience across the lifespan, Dr. Bendick specializes in trauma recovery, self-worth, and interpersonal challenges. Her work emphasizes human connection, creativity, and humor as essential elements of healing. As part of The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation team, she offers individual support and wellness consultations that help clients—both individuals and organizations—foster psychological well-being, navigate stress, and build stronger internal foundations for thriving at work and in life.

Dr. Christy Lynn Anana (she/her) is a somatic coach, sound healer, and mindfulness educator who brings over 15 years of experience in mind-body wellness to individuals and organizations. Based in Washington State, she serves as the Mindfulness Director at an elementary school and is completing her doctorate at the University of Washington. Named Washington State School Counselor of the Year in 2016, Dr. Christy integrates trauma-informed practices, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and emotional regulation tools into her work. She is the author of several children’s books focused on healing, mindfulness, and connection. As a member of The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation team, Dr. Christy supports our West Coast clients through virtual coaching, workshops, and wellness programming tailored to the needs of diverse communities and organizations.

Dr. Amber Godwin is an educator, author, and mindfulness advocate who integrates creativity and wellness into learning and leadership. An Assistant Professor of Education at Sam Houston State University, she holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University. Her work focuses on developing critical thinking and mindful engagement through storytelling, movement, and reflection.
With a background in AP teaching and hatha yoga, Dr. Godwin brings a unique blend of academic insight and embodied practice to her offerings. She has authored several books, including Teaching World History through Wayfinding, Art, and Mindfulness. As a contributor to The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation, Dr. Godwin supports clients through mindfulness-based education, corporate workshops, and thought leadership that connects wellness to learning, leadership, and innovation.

Mercedes M. Machado is a licensed mental health counselor and clinical educator with deep experience supporting clients through trauma, grief, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based modalities and enriched by creativity, compassion, and decades of hands-on experience with individuals, families, and groups.

Mercedes brings a strong background in supervision and counselor development, offering integrative, person-centered support to those navigating complex emotional challenges or pursuing professional growth. At The Mindful Prof, she provides individual counseling, group facilitation, and clinical guidance for those seeking greater emotional balance, resilience, and clarity in everyday life.

Mercedes holds advanced degrees in counseling and mental health from the University of Florida, and  is known for her thoughtful, trauma-informed, and developmentally sensitive approach to healing and mentorship.

Michele McMoneagle, M.Ed., is an educator and mindful movement practitioner who serves as the Lead Somatic Coach at The Mindful Prof. She is dedicated to making restorative and embodied practices accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities. With a background in education and training in trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices, Michele creates welcoming spaces where people can reconnect with their bodies, cultivate presence, and experience the supportive benefits of rest and mindful movement. Her approach integrates compassionate teaching, accessible practices, and nervous-system–aware care to support wellbeing and resilience.

At The Mindful Prof, Michele leads the organization’s individualized coaching initiatives and collaborates closely with Dr. Kelsey on curriculum development across coaching and training programs. She supports clients through accessible somatic and mindfulness-based practices while helping shape the structure and learning experiences that guide the organization’s leadership and wellbeing work.

Juanita Carbajal (she/her, ella), MPH, RYT, is a mindfulness and somatic coach dedicated to supporting holistic healing through trauma-informed practices. With over a decade of experience in both mental health and public health, Juanita offers accessible, compassionate tools that promote emotional resilience and wellbeing—particularly within diverse and historically underserved communities. As a certified yoga instructor and somatic coach, she guides clients in developing mindfulness, body awareness, and sustainable self-care practices.

At The Mindful Prof, Juanita provides personalized coaching designed to support each individual’s path toward balance, healing, and self-discovery. Her lived experience with trauma deeply informs her work, allowing her to connect authentically with clients and remain actively engaged in her own ongoing growth and training as a coach.

As Vice President of Business Development for The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation, Jaime brings over 25 years of experience in digital marketing, media, and strategic consulting—combined with a deep passion for health, wellness, and human development.

With a background that bridges business strategy and holistic health, Jaime offers a unique, inside-out approach to growth. Following a personal health transformation and certifications in personal training, corrective exercise, and holistic health coaching (NASM-CPT, CES, NBHWC), she’s spent years helping individuals build strength, resilience, and balance.

Now focused on empowering mission-driven brands, Jaime leads strategic initiatives that blend authentic storytelling, conscious leadership, and purpose-aligned business development. Whether advising on brand growth, collaborating with wellness professionals, or facilitating partnerships, she is committed to building meaningful connections that drive impact for individuals and businesses at TMP & TMC.

 Amy brings over 25 years of experience in media marketing, corporate events, and live production to her role as Strategic Advisor at The Mindful Prof and The Mindful Corporation. With a career spanning content marketing, brand strategy, and full-scale event execution, Amy offers a rare blend of practical expertise and academic insight—uniquely positioning her to support purpose-driven organizations from concept to impact.

Her work spans everything from corporate retreats and wellness summits to product launches and branded experiences, all delivered with precision, creativity, and a deep understanding of audience connection. Amy’s strengths lie in translating visionary ideas into engaging, high-impact experiences that align with brand purpose and organizational goals.

As a Strategic Advisor for The Mindful Prof, Lauren Ward brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, events and social media, along with a deep commitment to wellness and purposeful community engagement. Her diverse background across the nonprofit, sports, wellness and technology sectors allows her to bridge strategy and authenticity helping shape initiatives that connect meaningfully with audiences.
 
Certified in Group Fitness by NASM, Lauren integrates her passion for movement, mindfulness and storytelling into her consulting work, supporting The Mindful Prof’s community event strategies, social presence and marketing direction. Through her thoughtful and collaborative approach, she supports the organization’s mission to expand awareness, deepen engagement and inspire well-being across communities and workplaces.
As Manager of Community Wellness, Engagement and Growth for The Mindful Prof, Maddie brings a dynamic blend of creative strategy, community building and wellness advocacy, backed by 5+ years of experience across marketing, B2B/B2C outreach and nonprofit engagement.
 
Her background spans health and wellness, startup innovation, digital storytelling and community partnerships. With degrees in English and Graphic Design and experience in both corporate and grassroots settings, Maddie is uniquely positioned to lead with empathy and execute with precision. She specializes in translating organizational goals into compelling narratives and high-impact digital experiences that drive both presence and long-term purpose.

As a certified yoga and cycling instructor, she brings a passion for purposeful connection into every initiative from overseeing digital platforms and executing integrated campaigns to cultivating a resonant, authentic brand voice.
